Who We Are

We are a 'real' and authentic faith community seeking to communicate the gospel of Jesus the Christ through connecting, sharing knowledge, growing, and going out into the world to make disciples with one another
ADVICE: When giving, ACH is the Bank Account option and has the lowest fee (1%). If you have difficulty, try creating an account as that will not only save time in the future, but you won't have to put your information in every time and it seems to correct any glitches. THANK YOU for your support of SUMC and our prayer-led ministries!
We believe that we are on a journey together - a journey with Jesus Christ learning about who he is and what our part is in God's salvation plan for all people. What this means, is that we are learning (know) to be like Christ so that people can be freed from: cycles of abuse/abusing, addictions, shame, guilt, un-forgiveness, self-hate, anxiety, etc. We are learning to minister and help (grow) through discussion, seeking God through prayer and the Scriptures, hearing the Word and discussing it, hymns and songs, and much more. And we hope that as we live (go) we can bring the Kingdom of God wherever we are - and what that means.

Pastor Dave is excited to be doing ministry in the Sherburne area. Pastor Dave received his MDiv and MaBS from Asbury Theological Seminary, has been involved with numerous youth retreat activities, men's retreat activities, and college ministry.
He hopes and plans to strive to be a disciple of Jesus Christ, to continue to help shape and make disciples of Jesus Christ, and to begin multiplying ministries, disciplers, and leaders in Sherburne and Chenango County through people like YOU. Pastor Dave also serves on the local Rotary International chapter, and has recently joined the Earlville Opera House Board.

Come join SUMC in spreading Scriptural Holiness throughout the land through raising up disciples who know, grow, and go in God's Word!
